![]() ![]() The student will learn the basics of Excel spreadsheets and during the last part of the course will also learn the basic utilization of QuickBooks. It is intended to provide the knowledge and skills to proficiently perform the functions of a bookkeeper and, to a certain degree, of an accountant. This Instructor led comprehensive course of instruction will introduce the fundamentals and responsibilities of the accounting professional. The student will create an initial accounting system and then evolve and expand that system to meet the growing needs of their business. During this project, the student will progress from sole proprietorships/partnerships record the addition of other partners and ultimately merge to form a single corporation. This will be accomplished by having the student consider a business that he/she would be interested in, excluding manufacturing. ![]() It is also the intention of this course to provide some exposure to accounting fundamentals and responsibilities. The class will also include the basics of Excel how to create, formulate and utilize Excel to aid in the analysis of information. ![]() The basic course will focus on GAAP and the methods used to gather and analyze financial, and to some extent, managerial information. This is to be a 12-week course five days a week, three 50-minute sessions and the fourth session of the day will be a full hour. In this way, useful, timely, and reliable information will be readily available. The student will be able to knowledgeably transfer all monetary transactional information to the QuickBooks system. The student will be taught the fundamentals of accounting, the use of Excel spreadsheets, and the utilization of QuickBooks. This course of instruction is to provide the student with the knowledge and skills to proficiently perform the functions of a bookkeeper/accountant. Bookkeepers and Accounting Specialists are highly respected and sought after. ![]()
